SMART INDUSTRIES LYON 2021 : THE INDUSTRY OF THE FUTURE AT THE CENTRE OF GLOBAL INDUSTRIE

Smart Industries, the international smart, efficient and digital industry event, returns as part of the third edition of GLOBAL INDUSTRIE from the 16th to the 19th of March 2021 at Eurexpo Lyon. An essential event for all professionals in search of innovations, specific know-how and technologies.

In 2021, 8000 m² of exhibition floor area will be specially dedicated to smart, efficient and digital factories. SMART INDUSTRIES means:

An exhibitor offer unique in France and in Europe

To move on to the Industry of the Future and take into consideration the impact of digital technology on today’s industry, SMART INDUSTRIES is organized in six main fields:

01.PRODUCT/PROCESS DESIGN

which covers all the tools and engineering services assisting in the design of parts, finished products, processes, production lines, etc. Design incorporating the modelling, simulation, virtualisation, prototyping and other aspects

02.MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF THE PRODUCTION SYSTEM

Three performance criteria are distinguished: the control system, traceability and management of physical flows. This part includes both hardware such as PCs or PLCs and the MES or ERP.

03.MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS

which have been identified as the third field characterising the production system, with two performance criteria: precision and flexibility. The latest developments include additive manufacturing or cobotics, etc.

04.SERVICES LINKED TO THE PRODUCTION SYSTEM

integration, installation and maintenance services, etc.

05.DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES

which are at the origin of the transformation of Industry with both Cloud computing and BigData.

06.WORK ORGANIZATION

which is the last field characterizing the production system. The human factor is taken into account in this field, both through work assistance tools such as augmented reality or cobotics and via training in new technologies, essential for effective integration. The environmental dimension, like energy efficiency, is naturally dealt with in the various fields.
