Touchline Interactive takes an interest in assembly
Jean-Marc Krattli, founder of Touchline Interactive, and Sam Garcia, project manager, were at GI 2024 to present their ‘Gooroo’ solution, dedicated in particular to assembly lines.
Touchline Interactive is a French company based in Biot, specializing in software development. The aim of this software is to support operators in carrying out their tasks and the work they must do.
“The solutions are aimed at operators in various sectors such as maintenance, inspection, training, assembly, with a specialization in factory assembly processes. We develop 3D software and are an SME active in several markets, including factory assembly, which is our core business,” explains Jean-Marc Krattli, the founder of Touchline Interactive.
He adds, “However, we also design solutions for other fields, such as fire safety training, to train people to react to risky situations. For this type of training, we use technologies such as augmented reality”.
The “Gooroo” solution
Touchline Interactive demonstrated an advanced assembly line, integrating 4.0 solutions. “Our ‘Gooroo’ solution acts like a GPS for the industry, guiding the operator at every stage of the assembly line,” explains project manager Sam Garcia. For example, if the operator must enter a part in a box, but selects the wrong one, the system immediately detects the error and informs him of it, notably by means of a red-light signal. On the other hand, if he selects the right part, the next step is automatically triggered. Augmented reality guidance, provided by cameras located above, then tells the operator what to do.
If the part is incorrectly positioned, the cameras detect this and alert the operator. This guarantees assembly quality, even when products change frequently or when the team has a high turnover. In this way, our systems can adapt to constantly changing products, or to new employees who need to be trained quickly.
He continues, ‘At the end of assembly, our server generates a detailed report showing the assembly time, the operator responsible, and photos of each stage. If a mistake has been made, such as inverting a part, the photo is recorded, enabling recurrences to be analysed and the workflow adjusted to avoid future errors. Photos are also taken when assembly is carried out correctly, to guarantee to the customer that the product has left the factory without defect’.
These systems are suitable for any company involved in assembly, whether in the electronics, aviation or other sectors. Touchline Interactive customises all solutions, whether software, cameras or other tools, to the specific needs of each customer.
